Tell us about your career.

I have been the Senior Partner of Bookers & Bolton since 2008. I qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and joined Bookers & Bolton in 1995.

In which areas of law do you specialise?
My expertise lies in Commercial Law, Property, and Wills and Probate. I work with customers who want a friendly relationship and a straight answer. I specialise in buying and selling businesses and shareholders agreements and leases. I have also been appointed and acted as executor in probates and as an attorney for over 20 years.

What do you offer the clients of Bookers & Bolton?
I believe that a good solicitor is incredibly knowledgeable in their legal field and confident enough to help their client make difficult decisions; and this is what I do. I approach my work with great enthusiasm and have 30 years of legal experience to draw upon. I am easy to approach and straight talking. I am able to advise my clients what they should do and will also make clear how much it will cost and how long it will take.

Do you offer home visits and out of hours services?
Yes.  I am happy to meet clients in their offices or at home and at a time that suits them.  I understand the need for flexible working in this busy world.  We can also conference call or Skype. I am used to working with clients who might not be based in Alton – I have both national and international businesses that I represent.

Tell us about you.

Where did you grow up and what are your earliest memories?
I grew up in Bedford and my earliest childhood memory is of digging holes in the garden.

What was your first job?
I had a summer job as a filing clerk in an insurance company; the pay was poor but we managed to get by on cakes which we’d earn by hitting targets.

What is your favourite film or TV programme?
La Dolce Vita directed by Fellini because it captures 1960’s Rome with such style and beauty.

Name something you love doing and why.
Surfing, because you have to be at one with the sea and because it requires you to relax and focus. It’s also incredibly physical and slightly dangerous.

What do you dislike most?
Losing.

What country would you most like to visit and why?
India because I have always wanted to see the Taj Mahal.

What are your personal ambitions?
To see my children grow into great young men and for Bookers & Bolton to flourish.

Have you ever written anything that was published in the press?
Yes, “Legal issues in Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Law” which was published in 2002.
