Positives To Take From Racing
Race Report from Samuel Gay
Sponsored by Bookers & Bolton
Not the best weekend ever but there are positives to take!
It was a dry practice day at the track and we were looking like we had good pace for race day on Sunday with a recently straightened chassis and a grid of 14 drivers.
However, Saturday practice wasn’t much help as Sunday was wet all day. In the first race, I started 4th and made a brilliant start around the outside into 2nd place! Due to lack of grip in the tyres I fell back to 8th by the end of race. I started the second race in 5th but made a rookie mistake meaning I would end up off the track and not finishing the race. I started the third heat 12th and made up a place to finish 11th. These heat results put me 12th on the grid for the final. I eventually made up one place to finish 11th.
We hope to be more successful at our next race at Camberley Kart Club in a couple of weeks’ time!
Best wishes
Samuel
