We are delighted to announce that Bookers & Bolton has received the Cyber Essentials Accreditation. The award recognises the firm’s commitment to cyber security and the value we place on protecting our clients’ data.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations safeguard themselves against common online threats and security attacks.
The annually renewable certification scheme is aligned to five technical controls designed to prevent the most common internet-based cyber security threats. These are:
- Firewalls.
- Secure configuration.
- Security update management.
- User access control.
- Malware protection.
Receiving Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates that an organisation is protecting itself by implementing the most important cyber security controls in these areas.
Bookers & Bolton Practice Manager Paula Langley said: “We are very proud to have achieved the Cyber Essentials accreditation.
“As well as helping to guard our systems against potential cyber-attack, certification demonstrates Bookers & Bolton’s commitment to cyber security and the safeguards we have in place to protect our clients and suppliers.
“Certification demonstrates to our staff, clients and stakeholders that we take cyber security extremely seriously, ensuring our systems meet the high standards necessary to protect your information from online threats.”
Solicitors’ firms with Cyber Essentials are at a lower risk of cyber-attack and offer assurance to clients that sufficient security controls are being used to reduce the risk of any breach on systems and data.
The Cyber Essentials scheme was launched in 2014. Over the past ten years, 120,000 certificates have been awarded to businesses, charities, educational institutions, law firms and other organisations that demonstrate the required level of commitment to cyber security.
